ARI Soft Print E-mail
ARI Soft makes tools for contents and also components for Joomla all versions. Their flasgship is i guess AriQuiz , a quiz component for joomla. I think that is quite a neat idea.

They also have extensions ( and some are free ) that may come in real handy if you develop extensions and need some helper apps that will do mundane jobs for you. Check out their SmartContent. It will probably save you tons of work, even if you could do it yourself.

Even if you're not a developer, some of the content processing tools, "widgets" they call it, looks to me to be extremely useful. They have live demo and trials for each of their products, so you will most likely to be entertained and educated even if you do not purchase anything. Certainly worth a visit, if you are looking to save time with your development works.  Visit ARI Soft

Brief Description

myJSpace is a Module and Component combination that allows registered users to have their own HTML pages.

Users are able to :-

  • Add/Create pages.
  • Delete pages.
  • Rename Pages.
  • View Pages
  • Edit Pages.

All pages are HTML / xhtml, and users may edit the pages using their preffered editors. A link to each page is made after page creation, and this link is the URL to the users page, which is accessible as standard URL.

myJSpace works on all versions of Joomla using the same set of files, thus allowing you freedom of choice of which Joomla version you prefer. This is probably the first Joomla Extension which is tri-version compatible.

myJSpace Version 13 Build 9 Final - NC Print E-mail
myJSpace Version 13 Build 9 Final

myJSpace Version 13 Build 9 has reached stabilty and maturity level, for what it is.

From now, it will be user supported and developers or budding develepors wishing to dig in for enhancements or implementation of ideas are most welcomed to do so.

mySpace Version 13/9 is free and GPL.

Users not familiar with HTML and has not the ability to handle PHP codes, CSS styles and related topics are strongly advised to refrain from using myJSpace.

myJSpace project also welcome new developers to come in. If you are a developer or a developer wanabe, this extension provides you an excellent opportunity to try out your own codes within the extension, as it was redesigned to operate in all Joomla versions.

Many users are not aware that installation of myJSpace in Joomla 1.5 requires legacy mode, and is being specifcally and clearly mentioned on both the Home Website and this website. A specific xml for Joomla 1.5 can easily be made, by those in the know, but this is not done in myJSpace as i am personally not in favour of making two separate set of files for two Joomlas. Period.

In Joomla 1.0 installation is straight forward, and it actually is a lot simpler to use Joomla 1.0 for this purpose. If you are out to really serve your users by allowing them to make HTML pages with ease, Joomla 1.0 is the way to go, regardless of the myths and hypes behind what others say about it. You may wish to note that Joomla 1.5 is an extension of the success of Joomla 1.0.

The main aim of myJSpace is to allow users to make HTML pages and have their own space with control over it. For your information. As of January 2009, myJSpace is at Build 14, which is not released, but is available for customised purposes should any website require such a feature.

Thank You.

Joomla! Pages - An Introduction Print E-mail
Joomla 1.0.x ONLY

Joomla! Pages is a component designed and tested in Joomla! Version 1.0.X that allows users to clearly define pages and to control Joomla! in such a way that references to the page *always* and *with certainty* brings up the template selected for that page, and the corresponding modules that are specified to appear with it.

This is achieved by intercepting and interpreting the Item ID number issued in URLs for accessing contents Joomla!. The Item ID number is then decoded or interpreted to allow the correct template to appear.

Display your Articles with the Templates of your choice !

( When you click on read more, you will be taken to a new template dedicated for Joomla Pages. This cannot be done in a standard Joomla )

Tired of the mundane who is online module, i started to write a simple whoisit module that does the simple job of saying who is online, with online updating.

Packed in a module, it displays who is online in a simple table and is updated regularly so that we get to see the traffic somewhat, rather than having to click on the default who is online module everytime to find out if a new user has entered our website.

Enjoy !

This module is downloadable here on this site.

Joomlah.Org FAQ Print E-mail
PHP Links

What is this Site ?

This Site is dedicated to Joomla! Extensions Development and the promotion of Joomla! CMS.

Why is it called Joomlah ?

The word is commonly used here in our local language, and the coincidience with the Afrikan Swahili Joomla! is perhaps not a coincidence. In the history of mankind, our ancestors have been know to travel far and wide, and they bring with them amongst other things, language and culture. Thus the 'togetherness' or Joomla! in Swahili closely resembles the Malay 'in total' or Joomla ( correct spelling Jumlah ) or 'in totality', though perhaps not the dialectical version " let's go " or "Jom-lah". The origin of the word Joomlah is arabic, Jumla, which carries the same meaning. Thus Jumla has travelled far and wide across the oceans, and the word is important as when you trade, a "total" amount is always needed. I therefore think fit that the name be adopted.

What can i expect to find on this Site ?

Joomla Extensions, Templates, Program Guides, Hints and Tips for Programmers, Other Useless Articles i put in now and then, and of course Google Ads.

What more can i expect ?

A forum will be set up in the 2nd half of this year to begin discussions on Joomla Programming. It is hoped this will be actively particpated by other users. We want to to be different from other Joomla Forums. We want to provide really useful guide for developers and to put up many examples of programs, so that developers have ample insight into the Joomla intestines and to be able to code happily without going through extensive reading of documentation. The easieast way to achieve is to prepare our own reference, for our own needs, rather than use the official ones which are for official needs only. And examples make the best examples.

An authors column will also be setup and guest programmers will be invited. I however cannot make any promises on the availability of writings from them as it is entirely up to their kind deed to submit writings.

Great, do i need to register for all this privileges ?

Not really, but if you want to particpate actively and post messages, you must register. If you are here to read ( steal codes ) and to download ( steal a lot more codes ) then you need not register. Feel free to help yourself with the free stuff we have.

You said it's free, but i noticed there is a "shop" menu ?

Well, most of the materials on this website are free, but we want to try and sell some stuff and see if it works. If it doesn't well, we will close it down and put up a boring blog or something, perhaps have a chinese take-away menu that actually sells.

I'd like to be notified of new materials being uploaded here...how can i do that ?

If you surrender and register yourself as a code thief, i will send updates in the form of newsletters :)

What is Joomla! ? Print E-mail

Joomla! is a content management system. In essensse, it allows you to develop websites easily, and later allows addition, deletion and modification of contents with convenience.

If you had done websites in HTML, you know what it's like when updating is needed. And if you have not done websites, be advised that not using a content management system is really limiting yourself in terms of being able to deliever up-to-date contents. Joomla! is free. It is being used supported by over 200,000 people and the number is growing everyday. This growth is due to the sheer ease of using Joomla.

Joomla is extensible in that you can add on modules to it, what in Joomla terminology may consist of components, modules and mambots, or any combination of the extension type. Some of them are commercial, you pay some reasonable amount, most are free. The extensions make Joomla become large in functonality. And this is key to Joomla's success. My personal guess is that there will be over a million Joomla! users by next decade or so. The phenomenal success of Joomla! speaks for itself.

If you wish to find our more about Joomla! there are many useful information and links on this website. Feel free to ask anything should you require further information.

Thank You.
