myJSpace Version 13 Build 008.

Brief Description

Created by D'Abronzo Vincenzo ( Enzo ) ( www.vincenzodabronzo.com )

Unified Codes For Joomla 1.0 Native, 1.5 Legacy, and 1.5 Native
( myJSpace Project Contributor : ~ jalil ~ : Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia )

myJSpace is a Module and Component combination that allows registered users to have their own HTML pages.

Users are allowed to :-

  •  Add/Create pages.
  • Delete pages.
  • Rename Pages.
  • View Pages
  • Edit Pages.

All pages are HTML/xHTML, and users may edit the pages using their preffered editors.
myJSpace works on all versions of Joomla using the same set of files, thus allowing you freedom of choice of which Joomla version you prefer. This is probably the first Joomla Extension which is tri-version compatible.

Program Changes

Version 13 Build 006 - 20th June 2008

  •  only one vocabulary file for the entire ( file : myjspace.com.vocabulary.php )
  •  one set of component/module for ALL Joomla versions.
  •  new installation procedures.
  •  myjspace foldername enforced temporarily.
  •  foldername and pagenames - restrictions lessened, now allowing much more flexibility.
  •  ability to use Joomla templates. ( Currently presetable only by admin and is the default for every user. )

Planned Changes in next few builds .

User Features.

- User selectable template.
- More Admin Control of User Functions.

Installation Procedure ( NEW )

First of all, note that this version is tri-version tri-mode implementation of a Joomla extension. Meaning, it can be used on any of the current Joomla installs. The installation procedure will depend on your install, but only the same set of files are needed.

Component and Module  Installation

Joomla Version 1.0.X

Install in the normal upload/install manner for the component and each of the module.

Joomla Version 1.5.X - Native Mode

Switch on LEGACY Mode. ( Enable Legacy Mambot ).
Install in the normal upload/install manner for the component and each of the module.
Switch BACK to Native Mode.

Joomla Version 1.5.X - Legacy Mode

Install in the normal upload/install manner for the component and each of the module.

Usage ( NEW )

After installation, proceed to the backend and select the template you wish to use for your myJSpace site. Then publish the modules for myJSpace.

Register yourself via the frontpage and observe the myJSpace menu appearing on the front end.

It may be a good idea to create a menu to myJSpace component and assign it the template you selected for myJSpace to this menu. This will allow users clicking on the menu to be sent to myJSpace pages.

  • A demo and sample of myJSpace running on Joomla 1.0.15 is available for you to observe at myJSpace Demo.
  • In case this page is changed, please proceed to http://www.joomlah.org main page and look for the myJSpace menu.
  • For comments/questions/praises/curses to myJSpace, please proceed to the Home of myJSpace at http://www.vincenzodabronzo.com/

Thank You all, and Enjoy myJSpace !

Joomla! Pages - An Introduction Print E-mail

Joomla! Pages is a component designed and tested in Joomla! Version 1.0.X that allows users to clearly define pages and to control Joomla! in such a way that references to the page *always* and *with certainty* brings up the template selected for that page, and the corresponding modules that are specified to appear with it.

This is achieved by intercepting and interpreting the Item ID number issued in URLs for accessing contents Joomla!. The Item ID number is then decoded or interpreted to allow the correct template to appear.

What is this Site ?

This Site is dedicated to Joomla! Extensions Development and the promotion of Joomla! CMS.

Why is it called Joomlah ?

The word is commonly used here in our local language, and the coincidience with the Afrikan Swahili Joomla! is perhaps not a coincidence. In the history of mankind, our ancestors have been know to travel far and wide, and they bring with them amongst other things, language and culture. Thus the 'togetherness' or Joomla! in Swahili closely resembles the Malay 'in total' or Joomla ( correct spelling Jumlah ) or 'in totality', though perhaps not the dialectical version " let's go " or "Jom-lah". I therefore think fit that the name be adopted.

What can i expect to find on this Site ?

Joomla Extensions, Templates, Program Guides, Hints and Tips for Programmers, Other Useless Articles i put in now and then, and of course Google Ads.

What more can i expect ?

A forum will be set up in the 2nd half of this year to begin discussions on Joomla Programming. It is hoped this will be actively particpated by other users. We want to to be different from other Joomla Forums. We want to provide really useful guide for developers and to put up many examples of programs, so that developers have ample insight into the Joomla intestines and to be able to code happily without going through extensive reading of documentation. The easieast way to achieve is to prepare our own reference, for our own needs, rather than use the official ones which are for official needs only. And examples make the best examples.

An authors column will also be setup and guest programmers will be invited. I however cannot make any promises on the availability of writings from them as it is entirely up to their kind deed to submit writings.

Great, do i need to register for all this privileges ?

Not really, but if you want to particpate actively and post messages, you must register. If you are here to read ( steal codes ) and to download ( steal a lot more codes ) then you need not register. Feel free to help yourself with the free stuff we have.

You said it's free, but i noticed there is a "shop" menu ?

Well, most of the materials on this website are free, but we want to try and sell some stuff and see if it works. If it doesn't well, we will close it down and put up a boring blog or something, perhaps have a chinese take-away menu that actually sells.

I'd like to be notified of events and new materials being uploaded here...how can i do that ?

If you surrender and register yourself as a code thief, i will send updates in the form of newsletters.
